What do you do best?:

I believe that we all have our own Visionary archetype within us. This archetype can guide us toward our lives intention, toward ourselves.  I realize as time passes, that the only things I’m good at are those things that are in alignment with who I am. Whenever I try to do anything that doesn’t “feel right” I can never do my best, I can never be whole hearted. If I’m not in alignment with my own life I can’t be fully present with what’s in front of me.

The answer to the question is that whenever I am being who I am, I’m doing my best, so I guess that being who I am is what I do best.

What makes you the best version of yourself?:

My love for all the children invites me to look at the influence my life will have on the future of the world. It leads me to ask myself “how I can make the world a kinder, gentler, safer place for all future beings?” The person who is asking these questions, and taking action to answer them is the best version of myself.

What are your aspirations? (Personal and Business):

To be the father, grandfather teacher and friend whose presence in peoples lives gives them strength and joy during my life and after my death. I want those I love to carry with them the certainty that they’re worthy of being loved unconditionally.

Biggest Success?:

My biggest success is living with my family. I live on a farm with my sons and daughter in law and three granddaughters. For me, living together on the land feels like the right way to live. We work together and support each other as best we can and we share a sense of community and intention. I think I’ve succeeded, at least in part, in living in alignment with my own beliefs.

Most Challenging Moment?:

N/A

Motto?:

I’m not perfect, but I’m good enough, and that’s perfect.

Favorite People/Role Models?:

My greatest role model is my three year old Granddaughter, Ozma. The other night she was telling me in a very serious voice that she needed to stop having “Om” (this is what she calls nursing) She said she needed to stop because she wants to grow up. Then she said that she didn’t want to grow up, because she likes the way she is. She got serious again and said ”there’s a mystery around here, and I’m going to solve it” She said “Let’s go outside and solve this mystery, I know what’s going on around here”

I believe that she really does know what’s going on “around here”

Favorite Places/Destinations?:

I live in the woods in Vermont and no matter where I travel I’m most at home in the northern hardwood forests.

Favorite Products/Objects?:

I’m very fond of my 1987 VW camper, but if I say it’s my favorite, I’m afraid my bicycle will be jealous, and I certainly don’t want that.

Current Passions?:

This seemed like a simple question, but as I thought about it more, I realized something interesting. The essence of my practice and teaching is about equanimity, about being present and joyful with what’s true in the present moment but my passions are about the future. How do we make things in the future better? How do we preserve things that are good? This can make me lose touch with the passion of the present moment. So I’m going to say that right now, my passion is right now, and I’m going to go passionately take a bike ride.
