What Else To Know

My Goal of the Day:

Live, Love, Laugh, Learn.

My Thought of the Day:

Life is short and precious, every single second of it needs to be fully appreciated.  I have seen a lot of people die:  young people, old people, people in Africa when I worked there with Doctors Without Borders and people in the USA when I did my internship and residency to become a California licensed physician. I have seen people suffering from untreatable infections and dying from untreatable cancers.  So, yes, I repeat, life is short and precious.  Every single second of it needs to be fully appreciated.

My Action of the Day:

Love and respect family, friends, animals and nature

My Deed of the Day:

I am a writer and a public speaker, so my deed of the day is to prepare my next blog, book or speech with the goal of helping people and teaching them what I have learned over the years, trying to make complex things simple to understand.

My Tip of the Day:

Call someone who is dear to you and tell that someone how much you appreciate him or her.  You will make that person very happy and the happiness will radiate back to you

Tell Us More:

I love the weather, the beach and the people of Los Angeles.  I love the fact that it is one of the homes to show business.  This allows me to enjoy my hobby which is to be on TV shows in front of the camera.

Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?

My favorite breakfast is a fruit like a peach, a mango, blueberries or raspberries.  I know, I know… I always tell my patients that the most important meal of the day is breakfast and that it needs to be substantial and yet, I don’t follow my own advice.  That is because my stomach really hates having food other than fruit in it for breakfast.  Even though I was born and raised in France, you would think that my stomach would want a croissant for breakfast.  Well, it doesn’t.  It only wants fruit and it is so stubborn that long ago I stopped fighting with it.  So, fruit it is.

What are you doing at:

6:00 AM – I am fast asleep and dreaming, lying comfortably flat on my belly, hugging a pillow.  I usually get up at 8:00 am, fully refreshed after a good night sleep and ready to start my day with a smile.

10:00 AM – I am usually doing some physical exercise, either I am at the gym or on a walk along the beach.  I start my day with one or two hours of physical exercise, only after that can I write my next blog, my next book and prepare my next speech.  If I don’t exercise in the morning, I feel tired and off the whole day.

12:00 PM – Favorite Lunch spot/meal?

I love having lunch at home.  It is usually a mixed salad with all organic ingredients if possible: romaine lettuce, endive, cucumber, tomato, mushrooms, snow peas, olives, blanched almonds, goat cheese and a slice of toasted sesame wheat bread from my favorite bakery in Venice Beach.

7:00 PM – It is dinner time!!!  I am having dinner with my wonderful husband at home.  It is usually a simple dinner with steamed rice, organic steamed broccoli, green beans or cauliflower with a piece of grilled chicken or fish.  Dessert is usually plain unsweetened low-fat yogurt.

11:00 PM – I am in bed lying on top of my husband, and don’t get the wrong idea…we are not having sex…my head is resting on his chest while we are talking about our day, telling each other jokes and discussing the latest news and medical research.

What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?

I love drinking flat spring water or Perrier sparkling water (you can see that I haven’t forgotten my French origin) with fresh squeezed lemon juice.

Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?

Probably google maps, planning my next trip.

What should everyone try at least once?

Everybody should at least once try to give their body (or body part) a voice.  If your stomach had a voice what would it say?  If your back had a voice, what would it say?  If your genitals had a voice, what would they say?  Is your stomach, back or genitals happy or do they have any complaint?   That is what I explain in my latest book: “The Listening Cure” (see my pic of the day)

Where do you enjoy getting lost?

I enjoy getting lost everywhere… in my neighborhood, in a town, in a new country.  When I get lost, I always discover something new and valuable that adds to my life or to others’ life.  Last time I got lost in my neighborhood (and no, I don’t have Alzheimer’s disease, but I can still get lost in my neighborhood because it has a lot of small winding streets), I discovered a cute dog in somebody’s front yard.  I stopped to pet him which made me happy and made the dog happy.  Last time I got lost in Paris, France, I discovered a new small restaurant that had the most delicious food.
