There are so many things I love about London. I don’t think there is a culturally more diverse city in the world.
That diversity has also had a brilliant side effect of giving us exceptional food! I love that the food has got better. Finally! After being the laughing stock of the world London is now absolutely cutting edge for cuisine, and is it just me, or is everything in New York ridiculously expensive in comparison?!
Finally, the view of the Thames at night from the bridges is incomparable.
Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?
Smoked salmon and scrambled egg with granary toast and black pepper with a flat white and an English breakfast tea chaser
Dirty French on the Lower East Side – still wondering why wine is so expensive in New York!
I have to mention Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons for special occasions, it’s rooms and gardens are beautiful, and of course the food and wine is incredible.
What are you doing at:
6:00 AM – First thing, I haul myself out of bed, pull on gym gear and do either watt bike training, circuit training or yoga.
I’m an athlete in the morning, an ad man during the day and an alcoholic at night!
10:00 AM – I am usually being pulled out of my over-running meeting and chaperoned to wherever I am supposed to be by Sarah, my amazing PA – I am like a lost child without its parent when she is on holiday.
12:00 PM – Favorite Power Lunch spot/meal?
I don’t do power lunches. Instead I am in a meeting or sat on my exercise ball at my desk eating the same salad from the same café downstairs every day. Occasionally an itsu.
7:00 PM – If I’m not out entertaining or starting my evening calls with the US, I will be cajoling my teenage children into homework or chastising them for a range of misdemeanours at school. No doubt I will have already given in to the tug of a glass of wine…
11:00 PM – At eleven I will be asleep on the sofa! The TV is like a sleeping tablet for me; I have seen the beginning of almost every film – and not many endings!
What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?
During the day its tea and water but evening means wine. Before choosing wine, I will always ask whether my lunch or dinner guest has preference. It’s not unusual for people to say that they don’t like Chardonnay but they like Chablis. My wine secret is Bergerac reds. Very like Bordeaux down the road but a fraction of the price.
Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?
Instagram. I love the Fat Jewish although he has gone a little quiet recently.
What should everyone try at least once?
Jumping out of a plane.
Where do you enjoy getting lost?
I don’t enjoy getting lost. I’m a control freak.
