Proprietor, Brewery Gulch Inn
Born and raised in Del Mar, California, Guy Pacurar successfully managed a small company in San Diego for twenty years before his daughter, Taylor, inspired him to fulfill a lifelong dream and purchase an inn. The ensuing twelve-month search took him to twenty-nine inns in five states before he visited California’s North Coast and found the Brewery Gulch Inn. In August of 2007, he became the second owner of this iconic Mendocino property. Not long after relocating, the stars aligned and Guy met and married Sarah Schoeneman. Convinced to sell her real estate company in Berkeley, Sarah moved to Mendocino, married this itinerant innkeeper and joined Mendo Realty. In 2012, their family expanded when Ella Mac came along.

What are you doing at:
6:00 AM – Getting our six-year-old ready and off to school
10:00 AM – Telling our chef at Brewery Gulch Inn, “Victor, I can’t have pancakes or eggs benedict every day!”
12:00 PM – Favorite Power Lunch spot/meal?
Well, we live in Mendocino, so we really don’t do power lunches. We do leisurely, relaxing lunches. And for that, it would be Café Beaujolais/ Thai Duck Salad
7:00 PM – During the summer, we are watching the sunset over the ocean from the front deck of our house.
11:00 PM – Thinking about how we have a 4-hour window before our six-year-old stumbles down the stairs and climbs into bed with us.
What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?
A mango lassi here at the Inn, and some of our Fathers + Daughters rustic sparkling at home.
