Learn something new every day, and share the knowledge
Work with DC on getting unsweetened water into schools and military so children and veterans can lead healthier lives.
I can hike in the mountains in the morning, cross over the bridge and spend the day soaking in the culture of innovation, afterwards…the best restaurants, wine, even a walk on the beach if I want. San Francisco has all the advantages of a cosmopolitan city and all the beauty of a vacation spot. It has the serious brain power without the serious dress code. There’s a relaxing quality of life that allows you to work hard and enjoy in a balanced and healthy way.
Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?
I love starting my morning with a hint kick, and then a latte with my breakfast — usually 2 eggs scrambled with toast. If I go out, it’s usually on the weekends with my family. Being from AZ, I love Mexican food, so I always push for Tacolicious!
What are you doing at:
6:00 AM – In the middle of a morning hike with my husband and my dogs. We usually head out around 5:30. No cell phone, no prior emails or texts, no distractions. Just nature and our dogs — Sadie and Buster.
10:00 AM – I’m way into my day, and likely finishing one meeting and walking into another. This could be a meeting to solve problems, work on product R & D, a podcast recording for Unstoppable, or I might just be at my desk going through emails.
12:00 PM – Favorite Lunch spot/meal?
During the week, my schedule is usually pretty crazy. I don’t really ever get lunch on my own. If I’m not having a lunch meeting, you might find me with a cold-pressed juice on my desk.
7:00 PM – Around this time, we head back to Marin for dinner. It’s either a family dinner at home or, on special occasion, dinner at one of our go to restaurants—Farmshop or Picco. If I’m not in San Francisco, 7pm is usually my hour to decompress from the day before going back out into any events that I may be attending at night.
11:00 PM – In most instances by now I’ve pretty much shut down after answering emails and catching up with my family and friends. I might have a book in my hands with my eyes closed.
What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?
Anyone who knows me knows that I drink hint water, day and night…I switch flavors, sometimes blackberry, pineapple, cherry, and I mix them together too—that’s how some of our most successful smashups were born. Right now I’m drinking our new hint peppermint sparkling water — it gets me in the mood for the holidays!
Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?
Most used app — Mail. My favorite Instagram account is a fairly underrated one, it’s called @onherturf. It’s an account hosted by Refinery29, and has a bunch of amazing stories of women.
What should everyone try at least once?
Take a risk on something you really believe in— whether it’s a career move, a romantic move or something experiential like whitewater rafting or dancing all night long.
Where do you enjoy getting lost?
I’m happiest outdoors. In the mountains, by the water or in a new city. I suppose I’m drawn to more adventurous travel like Patagonia or New Zealand but walking a European city is always amazing, too.
