Meditate for at least 10 minutes to clear out the cobwebs and drink lots of water. I teach hot yoga and pilates so I can never hydrate enough!
Damn I’m lucky. Also, I’m cold and it’s time to visit Miami.
I took a super sweaty and challenging hot pilates class with my favorite students. Taking time just for me is crucial, it makes anything that’s been bothering or stressing me seem so small.
I opened my second yoga studio last month, so there’s lots to do these days. Today, I created a program to mentor new teachers and support their growth at the studios. I’m also curating a retreat to Nicaragua this March, which is so fun to plan!
Do something just for yourself everyday; whether taking a fitness class, meditating, taking a long walk or a bath. When you take time for yourself, you have more to give the people and things that matter to you! We cannot give from empty.
A Day in My Life:
What do you love most about Your City?
I love that it’s full of smart, interesting and hardworking people. I’m pretty stunned by the range of talents among our students and love that the studios bring in all sorts of people.
Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?
My home! I make bulletproof coffee and a juice if I’m taking class, or a protein shake if not.
What are you doing at:
6:00 AM – Cuddling with my puppy or teaching yoga to rockstar students!
10:00 AM – Checking emails and planning events at the studio. I’m probably on my second cup of coffee.
12:00 PM – Favorite Lunch spot/meal?
I love Gotan Williamsburg, they serve amazing coffee and fast, healthy Israeli food with lots of delicious veggies.
7:00 PM – I’m teaching yoga or pilates. If I’m off, I’m checking out one of the amazing restaurants in Williamsburg or Greenpoint with my friends.
11:00 PM – Reading in bed with my puppy. I alternate novels and business books, so hopefully it’s a novel. It takes me a long time to unwind if I teach at night and it’s important for me to be away from screens.
What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?
1-2 cups of coffees, lots of water with lemon and electrolytes. I love a good glass of red wine at the end of the day.
Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?
Insight timer for meditation.
What should everyone try at least once?
Everyone should try our hot pilates class! It’s high-intensity interval training mixed with pilates moves and is intense, energetic and so fun! We bump the music and have a disco ball!
Where do you enjoy getting lost?
In the Met. I grew up in New York and love visiting my old friends at the Greco-Roman wing and the Temple of Dendur.
