As a former competitive swimmer and endurance athlete, I’ve always valued an active and healthy lifestyle. Although I love my day job as a marketer, my real thrills come from leading sold-out classes and helping other realize their fitness potential. Energy is contagious, and I’m very conscious about what I put out and how it will come back to me. I try always to smile when I talk to people 1:1 to keep the mood light, and open.

What do you love most about Your City?

Chicago is a city of people that work hard and play hard. No one takes themselves too seriously. This city is electric but approachable, and so are the people who live here.

Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?

Steak and eggs, a piping cup of hot coffee, and a side of pancakes for the table

What are you doing at:

6:00 AM – Meal prepping for myself…and my 8-month-old son, Luke! I make all of the food I consume throughout the day, and his as well. Luke just started eating solids, and his reactions to new tastes and flavors are truly priceless. Right now I’m not counting calories or macros, other than protein, so I’m eating intuitively and giving my body what it craves (in moderation).

10:00 AM – Training clients at Barry’s River North, there is truly no place I would rather be. It is such a privilege helping clients pursue a life better lived.

12:00 PM – Favorite Lunch spot/meal? Favorite Lunch spot/meal?

Sweetgreen or True Foods, they’re right next door to the studio, quick, with the freshest ingredients. I typically don’t eat lunch until 2 or 3 PM though!

I typically don’t eat lunch until 2 or 3 PM and eat two BIG meals a day, with one small snack thrown in.

7:00 PM – Wrapping up my day at the studio, chatting with clients, sending priority emails, and making my way back home. I always keep a list of three things I HAVE to get done by the end of the day, and I make sure I finish all three off before I leave the studio for the night. It helps me prioritize my time, and even better helps me feel successful at the end of a crazy day. Is there anything better than crossing things off a to-do list? Go ahead; I’ll wait. 🙂

11:00 PM – Sleeping! It’s SO hard as an adult to prioritize sleep, but critical to a healthy mind, body, and soul. The only time your body truly recovers is during sleep. If you’re kickin’ your ass in the gym but staying up until all hours of the night, you won’t be making much progress.

What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?

Coffee! Three cups, always. I feel like that’s a lot of caffeine, but I am who I am! I have one cup to start my day, a second that serves as my pre-workout, and a third as an afternoon pick-me-up.

Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?

Instagram is by far my most used app. It’s how I stay inspired, connected to clients and followers, and even continue my education. My favorite person to follow is Jenny Mollen – she isn’t in the fitness industry, but she is HILARIOUS. We’re nothing without our senses of humor, you know?

What should everyone try at least once?

Barry’s! There is nothing like that Red Room. The energy is palpable, and the experience is second to none.

Where do you enjoy getting lost?

The Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art, it’s a smaller museum you can do in an afternoon, with the most interesting exhibits. My husband and I got married there, and it’s one of my favorite places to go alone or with friends.
