Author of the book "Build Your Dream Network"
Kelly has been lauded from Forbes (“1 of 5 Women Changing the World of VC/Entrepreneurship”) to Fast Company (“1 of the 25 Smartest Women On Twitter”) to Business Insider (“1 of the 100 Most Influential Tech Women On Twitter”) and Inc. (“1 of the 10 Most Well-Connected People in New York City’s Startup Scene”). EBW 2020 included her on their list of the “100 Most Influential Global Leaders Empowering Women Worldwide”.
If you would have asked Kelly back in 2009 if she believed any of those descriptions would be used within a few short years to describe her, she just might have said: ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
Kelly’s career story is one of transformation. Her career started out traditionally – with a law degree and a job in a big Toronto law firm. She continued along a predictable career path, until a chance opportunity landed in her lap in 2009 and she stopped playing it safe, leaping at the chance to work with a visionary leader of a global business network for women. Co-founding a startup accelerator then an interim CMO role with an emerging tech company are just part of her journey of reinvention as an author, writer, creator and investor. She has appeared on CNBC’s Power Pitch, moderated a speaker series at Apple, and more. Today, Kelly is a sought-out speaker, plus a contributor to publications such as GOBankingRates and Forbes.com, and guest host of the “Business Builders Show with Marty Wolff” podcast.

What do you love most about Your City?
It’s New York. What we don’t hate about the city, we love about it with an equal amount of passion. New York City gets under your skin and it is a place you cannot imagine living without.
Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?
Breakfast for me starts with a cuppa tea. The best cuppa I had (when not making it myself) was at Harvey Nichols in London. I travel frequently, so when at home in NYC breakfast is typically at home and involves some incredibly healthy concoction made in the blender that looks like something dredged from a swamp. Breakfasts I’ve loved while traveling include the breakfast buffet at The Marker Hotel in Dublin, Evergreen Brick Works in Toronto and The Orange Box at Leighton Beach in Perth, Australia.

7:00 PM – If I’m in NYC, then it might be an evening with friends – drinks, dinner, theater, concert or show – or alternatively, a quiet night in with a good book.
11:00 PM – Sleep.
What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?
Tea to start my day and water all day, preferably with a squeeze of lemon.
