How did you get into the industry?:

I have always had an eye for fine clothing and fashion. A little obsession actually, so when I was asked to design a little capsule collection I was hooked.

Emerging industry trends?:

Sustainable luxury. Suddenly, people care about what they are buying and direct to consumer gives you the ability to explain all aspects of your brand. Its not just something hanging on a rack. You are being conscious by caring what is being made and how. Some people still care only about the fast, cheap garment and that’s the opposite of what we stand for. We care about each step from start to finish.

Ideal experience for a customer/client?:

There simply is nothing softer that elevates your wardrobe than Bleusalt, and I believe everyone should at least have the opportunity to experience it.

How do you motivate others?:

By asking them to feel BLEUSALT to believe it. That’s usually all the motivation one needs.

Career advice to those in your industry?:

You can do anything you want with enough desire to learn. Passion is the biggest drive. It must sustain you through the rough times.

My personal aspirations are being met by living a creatively fulfilled life

My two sons Max and Noah

Most Challenging Moment?:

Well, my divorce by far. Once I got over the devastation, I found myself looking inward to discover what I realized I had lost and given away. It has been amazing to become re acquainted with myself and to realize and appreciate my gifts and talents for myself.

Favorite People/Role Models?:

My personal role models are my sons. I get very specific lessons and learn so much from each of them. In Business, well, I just think Oprah is the top of chain. She does it all and with passion, gives back, has endless creativity, and does so much good. There is no one like her on earth.

What Else to Know?

I just recently did a panel at South by Southwest and was struck by the amount of women starting their careers after their kids grow up. I think you can either start in your 20’s or in your 50’s, except if you start in your 50’s you are much wiser with more contacts, connections and skill and more time than ever.

Don’t be afraid to go after your passions no matter what they are. They are in your heart for a reason.
