Career Snapshot:

Now that she’s transferred coasts, Megan uploads videos every Wednesday on her YouTube channel and releases a new episode of her advice podcast Just a Tip every Friday so that her parents can feel like she still lives at home.

You’ve maybe seen Megan in Step Up Revolution, with World of Dance, teaching an online personality how to dance, or just wandering the candle aisle of a local Homegoods.

She loves the versatility of potatoes and hates writing in the third person. Critics are calling her probably something cutthroat and clinical with no regard to the fact she is sentient with hurtable feelings because that’s what a critic would do.

Career advice to those in your industry?

Be authentic and consistent.

Any emerging industry trends?

I’m blissfully unaware of what other people are doing unless it’s ubiquitous in my subscription box and feeds. Right now, there isn’t anything but if you hear of something, feel free to circle back! Haha

Ideal experience for a customer/client?

If someone can feel like they’re being talked to as a person or understood on a human level, that’s all I can ask for. Even in my merchandise, I’ll have small details like a tag or a thank you postcard that lets anyone who receives it know that I see them as a person with needs, and that I am the same. It’s the small stuff that makes all the difference in the world. The first round of merchandise I ever made, I wrote everyone’s names in calligraphy and hand wrapped every hat and shirt. It was an immense amount of work but I think it’s equally important to have that careful intention regard- less if I’m hand-packing something or not.

How do you motivate others?

I’m big on positive affirmations. If there’s a note, I’ll always mention what was great about it, and upon completion, I’ll verbalize how good of a job was done.
