What do you love most about Your City?
Houston is a secret weapon kind of town. Although it’s the fourth largest city in the country, it has a great small town feel. There are so many incredible opportunities in Houston, whether you want to start a business, advance your career, make great investments or raise a family. We have a thriving entrepreneurial community, some of the best restaurants in the U.S., great sports, culture, entertainment and a world-renown medical center. What’s not to love?
Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?
If I’m being good, my favorite breakfast is Greek yogurt with strawberries and green tea. If I’m being bad, it’s hashbrowns, bacon, homemade biscuits and a side of grits (hey, I’m a southern girl).
What are you doing at:
6:00 AM – I’m praying, then dragging myself out of bed to meet with my trainer. On the mornings I’m not working out, I’m checking news headlines to see what’s happened in the world overnight and how that applies to my clients and my business.
10:00 AM – I’m usually either in a strategy session, meeting with clients, talking with journalists or writing something – always writing something.
12:00 PM – Favorite Power Lunch spot/meal?
Most days, I eat lunch at my desk while on a conference call of some sort or in my car while driving from one meeting or event to another. My last actual lunch date was at Kulture, a swanky spot downtown.
7:00 PM – Around this time, I’m settling down with a glass of wine, looking at my schedule for the next day and catching up with friends. One of my favorite wine bars is Ogun Art and Wine. It has a sophisticated ambiance, incredible art, great food, and an exquisite wine selection. The vibe is so chill, you can go with a group of friends or go alone and make new friends.
11:00 PM – My body starts shutting down at 9:00 no matter what, so if I’m still awake at this time, call a doctor.
What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?
I like to start the day with a cup of earl grey tea. I mostly drink water throughout the day. When I’m celebrating, I like to have my favorite cocktail, Cloud Nine (dry gin, peach cordial, maraschino, violette, lemon).
Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?
I used to keep all my appointments in my head and relied on my stellar memory. I don’t have to tell you how flawed that system was. The calendar app that came with my phone has since become my best friend. It has completely changed my life. I’m loving Will Smith’s Instagram account. Watching him enjoy life so much is refreshing.
What should everyone try at least once?
International travel. It’ll definitely change your perspective on life.
Where do you enjoy getting lost?
I love exploring my hometown of New Orleans. It’s changed so much since Hurricane Katrina. Every time I visit, I enjoy going back and remembering what it was like to grow up in such a magical place.
