Forget daily goals. Play the long game instead.
I’m lucky to have the opportunity to do what I do every day.
Be Creative. Be Bold.
Be nice to everyone you come in contact with. Life’s too short to deal with jerks or haters.
Listen to Meatloaf’s Bat Out of Hell again … it has some great life lessons.
What do you love most about Your City?
The eclectic vibe. We have great restaurant, festival, live music and arts scenes here in the Triangle region so there’s always something fun to choose from. Raleigh has consistently been rated one of the best places to liveba and work in America for a very good reason.
Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?
I’m not much of a breakfast person but often make a Bruegger’s Bagels run on weekends.
What are you doing at:
6:00 AM – Sleeping, as I’m always up late.
10:00 AM – Sipping coffee and reading one of five newspapers I read daily, presuming I’m not in a client meeting or responding to emails.
12:00 PM – Favorite Lunch spot/meal?
Caffe Luna in Downtown Raleigh, it’s a great Italian restaurant down the block from our headquarters office.
7:00 PM – I’m probably on a Daytona Tortugas conference call on the drive home. I co-own a minor league baseball team and use the drive time to catch up on team business.
11:00 PM – Likely reading film scripts. I also own a film production company that has six projects completed or in development and am always being pitched new scripts or ideas, so I spend my late evenings reading.
What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?
Coffee, 4-5 cups a morning. At night I might have a glass of wine or cocktail if I’m out with friends or clients.
Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?
Those of my two daughters, Megan and Lauren – it’s the only way I can keep up with their activities, as one lives in NYC and the other is away at college.
Separately I use Apple Music and play multiple games of Words With Friends.
What should everyone try at least once?
Surfing (in Maui).
Where do you enjoy getting lost?
At the beach. I own a home on the North Carolina coast and it’s a great place to get away and decompress.
