Skyping with my nephew is the BEST!
Attending a screening of my film, Soledad, on the Disney lot!
I have lived and visited a lot of places, but Los Angeles has a very unique energy. Everyone you meet is passionately pursuing their dream, and that focus and drive is palpable. Every day, people are booking life-changing gigs in this city, and that possibility is very exciting!
Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?
Breakfast is usually a giant green smoothie or a fried egg on sour dough. If I’m going all out, my favorite weekend breakfast place is Granville Café.
What are you doing at:
6:00 AM – Hopefully, sleeping for another hour. Unless it is a day on set, in which case, I am already up and making myself tea and a green smoothie!
10:00 AM – Although I can get writing done any time of the day, I tend to do my best, most clear-headed writing first thing in the morning. So I usually try to reserve a few hours in the first part of my day for writing!
12:00 PM – Favorite Power Lunch spot/meal?
Olive & Thyme! Hands down. I love their grilled vegetable sandwich and SO many of their case salads. Delish! Now I’m hungry…
7:00 PM – Most evenings, I’m out at industry events. One or two nights a week I act in live readings of new scripts or put up a script of my own, others I attend panels or screenings (I’m a member of SAG-AFTRA, so there are a TON of fun screenings during awards season!), or I go to friends’ shows, etc. There is always so much going on, which is fun!
If it’s a home night, this is the time I usually make myself go on a run or do some yoga if I haven’t gotten a workout in earlier in my day.
11:00 PM – I’ve probably just finished catching up on one of my favorite shows (Doctor Who, This is Us, The Magicians, to name a few), and am turning out the light and setting an alarm for the next morning.
What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?
Tea, tea, and more tea. I usually have one cup of Matcha (Ippodo is my favorite!), English breakfast, or Spicy Chai tea in the morning. Sometimes I sneak a second cup…
I often end the evening with a glass of raspberry-lemon Calm, which is a magnesium supplement.
Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?
For staying connected with the entertainment industry, I use Twitter and Instagram pretty frequently. Although, I am also currently playing a lot of a game called Harry Potter – Hogwarts Mystery, so that one may take top billing.
My favorite Instagram accounts right now are @leefromamerica (tons of great healthy living & mindset information) and @justinbaldoni (actor, father, husband, and leader of a conscientious social movement redefining masculinity.)
What should everyone try at least once?
VOTING! And then get so hooked on voting that you vote in every subsequent election.
Where do you enjoy getting lost?
Hm, the first place that comes to mind is Powell’s Books in Portland, OR. Wandering around a bookstore is a great way to spend a free day!
