What do you love most about Your City?
Omaha. There is not enough space in this questionnaire for me to tell you everything I love about my city. We have a “We Don’t Coast” attitude — through and through. We work hard, and still make time to wave and say “good morning” to one another.
Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?
I adore a breakfast at Early Bird in the Blackstone District. My newest obsession? Chicken & Donut — like chicken and waffles, but so much tastier. They take a maple glazed donut, and pair it with crispy chicken strips and a spicy turkey sausage gravy.
Have you ever seen “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory”? Where the little girl has the gum and it takes her through an entire meal’s worth of flavors? The Chicken & Donut is that gum!
What are you doing at:
6:00 AM – Reading my emails and social in bed. I’m working on keeping the phone out of our bedroom, but it is so tempting to read just one more email!
10:00 AM – In my office, with coffee (probably a PSL – I’m basic and I love it), maneuvering my day. By 10 a.m., I have had my team meeting and have a handle on what my day will bring me.
12:00 PM – Favorite Power Lunch spot/meal?
Honestly? The Hy-Vee grocery store salad bar is my jam. Tons of options, very healthy and quiet. Perfect time to catch up on emails and social media, or have a quick meeting.
7:00 PM – Home, dinner has been made and off to the gym. My husband and I use gym time as date night. For as many PSL’s as I consume, it is as necessary as it is good for me. Our gym membership includes the usage of massage chairs and water massage beds – heavenly.
11:00 PM – Snuggled in bed, probably attached to my phone.
What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?
I wish I knew how to quit you, Dr. Pepper.
But I am down to one a day and do not allow myself to order it at restaurants.
Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?
Favorite App: Waze. I have lived in Omaha my entire life, but I still get lost. Our lovely city has a grid-layout, but I still manage to end up off track.
I enjoy traveling, too. So it’s a lifesaver.
What should everyone try at least once?
A public speaking engagement that terrifies you.
You’ll impress yourself with what you are capable of.
Where do you enjoy getting lost?
In a new city — you never know what treasures you’ll stumble upon.
