I love all of the cultures here in Los Angeles. As a filmmaker who likes to tell international stories, I get a lot of inspiration from the different backgrounds and passions from people who are different from me.
Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?
Since moving to Los Angeles, I’ve discovered breakfast burritos. They’re amazing.
What are you doing at:
6:00 AM – I like the quiet and dark of early morning. It’s a great time to fit in some yoga, make coffee or tea, and get a jump on emails.
10:00 AM – Time for script work on upcoming projects!
12:00 PM – Favorite Power Lunch spot/meal?
Le Pain Quotidien – in either New York or Los Angeles – is always a good spot.
7:00 PM – I often get a lot of my research done in the evenings. Phone calls and emails have been handled, so early evening is a good time to work uninterrupted.
11:00 PM – Bedtime – yay!
What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?
Green tea. It’s good hot or cold – all day long.
Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?
I don’t really use Instagram.
What should everyone try at least once?
An outdoor onsen (hot spring bath) in the winter snow in Japan – with a beer. It’s heaven.
Where do you enjoy getting lost?
I love wandering on the grounds of a Japanese shrine. The hidden statues and unexpected architectural details add a beautiful dimension to the serenity and history of the space.
