VICE PRESIDENT, MARKETING BROOKFIELD OFFICE PROPERTIES
Commercial Real Estate Company
Brookfield Office Properties is a commercial real estate corporation that owns, manages, and develops premier assets in the world’s most dynamic and resilient markets. The company’s signature properties define the skylines of many major metropolises including New York, Washington, D.C., Houston, Los Angeles, Toronto, Calgary, London, Sydney and Perth.
In this digital age, how does your firm utilize social media, if at all and stay ahead of the competition?
Brookfield has a strong social media following for our signature destinations around the globe, Brookfield Place, which are located in New York City, Perth and Toronto. These properties feature premier office space, world class dining, unique retail and vibrant arts & entertainment, and our social media initiatives keep tenants, tourists and local residents up to date and engaged. Our company spokespeople and a few of our executives are also active in the social media space, making sure we are connecting with the younger workforce that is relying less on traditional media for their information.
What do you love most about your firm?
Since joining Brookfield in 2006 the company has grown tremendously which afforded me the opportunity to grow with it. Brookfield has a great corporate culture- I work with a fantastic group of people, and I’ve worked with a lot of great leaders who helped mentor me and my team.
What is your creative marketing motto/philosophy?
Consistency, autonomy and quality. As a global brand there needs to be consistency throughout but each market and country we operate in requires different touch points and local flavor. And with over 100 million square feet of premier commercial real estate around the globe, the Brookfield marketing team produces an abundance of programs and end products. But quality always trumps quantity.
What part of NYC do you see becoming the go-to spot in 2014 and any buildings in specific?
Lower Manhattan, where I spend most of my days. As a resident of Tribeca pre 9/11 and now working for the largest landlord Downtown, it’s remarkable how much positive momentum has happened over the past decade. Obviously I’m biased, but our Brookfield Place complex along the Hudson waterfront is going to be the new “go-to” Downtown destination in 2014. Luxury-brand retail, new restaurants from celebrated chefs, a culinary school…plus we just opened our inaugural ice skating rink which local residents love. All this and premier office space with the best views in the city.
Coffee or tea?
Unsweetened iced tea with extra lemon.
