What do you do best?:

Stay motivated. I have no idea where this comes from but I am a machine when it comes to productivity. I meditate 40 mins a day, work out every day and wrote and published 6 books in 6 years. My mom is so proud of me when I take a day off.

What makes you the best?:

See above; I don’t give up.

What are your aspirations? (Personal and Business):

To have a family in whatever form that takes. And to continue accomplishing what I have in my career but blow it up—make my online courses and workshops take over the globe, book bigger public speaking gigs and do more on-air TV, all in the name of helping people share their stories so we can eradicate shame around addiction, mental illness and other dysfunctional habits.

Biggest Success?:

Getting sober almost 17 years ago. Becoming a nice person. Publishing books. Learning to focus more on helping other people and less on myself.

Most Challenging Moment?:

Learning to accept my father’s mental illness and the fact that a relationship with him isn’t possible for me right now.

Motto?:

We get what we want when we stop insisting on it – David Hawkins

Live life as if everything is rigged in your favor – Rumi

Nobody makes us feel inferior without our own consent – Eleanor Roosevelt

Favorite People/Role Models?:

My mentor Joe Polish – the most generous and helpful person I’ve ever met

Arianna Huffington for what she’s accomplished

My friend Ryan Hampton, who works tirelessly on behalf of recovery

Favorite Places/Destinations?:

Seville, Spain – where the air smells like perfume

Ojai, California – the best LA getaway that exists

Favorite Products/Objects?:

God, I’m crazy for the Waze app. And the Chase app. The fact that you can deposit checks without leaving your house? I’m basically in love with anything that makes my life more convenient.

I do also love my foam roller. My muscles get tight from working out and that can be a game changer.

I’ve recently become obsessed with Frank Shimmer Coffee Scrub. You put it all over your body in the shower, scrub it off and emerge with soft, sparkly skin.

Current Passions?:

Blowing up my online course and workshop. Meditating. Groov3 dance class. Martin Amis and Philip Roth. And figuring out the reason we’re all here.
