My Native AdVice:
How did you get into the industry?
Career advice to those in your industry?
Careers in this industry are built on recommendations. Therefore, the best career advice I can offer is to always arrive early and look for opportunities to help out. No matter how small your role on a video shoot, you’re there because you’re needed. And whoever is in charge of the shoot needs to know that you will be there on time. There will also always be small jobs that arise on the day – be helpful, volunteer, don’t be precious and don’t complain. This will be noticed and you will be recommended and put forward for more jobs.
Any emerging industry trends?
Everyone who is making videos at the moment needs to know how to distribute them and get them in front of the broadest possible audience. Distribution and strategy are the next big things in the video industry.
My Native AdVantage:
What are my aspirations?
I want to build two things: the most successful video production company in the UK. And a car!
My Most Challenging Moment?
Leaving a comfortable job to start something on my own was a major leap of faith. But I’m so glad I did it. It hasn’t been easy, but the opportunities and career flexibility that I have enjoyed as a result have been significant.
