Career Snapshot:

Over the last two decades, Janey Brown has performed in front of thousands of people, worked with Grammy award winning producers and developed artists in various musical genres.

She has also taught movement and mindset to athletes in the NHL, Olympics, NASCAR and MLS, as well as to hundreds of aspiring coaches across North America.

It’s no secret to the public that Brown struggled with anxiety for over half of both her careers. Ultimately though, her darkness became her diamond.

What was once her fear is now the fuel that operates “Fearce Academy,” a wellness company she built to help brave leaders and artists face their fears, hone their craft and make a bigger impact.

Brown believes in one simple equation: FEARS + FIERCE = FEARCE.

What are your aspirations? (Personal and Business):

Speaking and singing on global stages, helping artists and leaders across the world find optimal well being, bravery, resilience and self love.

Biggest Success?:

Being able to feel at home in my body again. Establishing inner peace after so many year of living with unbearable anxiety and trauma.

Most Challenging Moment?:

When I had a vocal injury which caused me to give up singing and coaching for a year.


The greatest wealth is found by loving yourself.

What do you love most about Your City?

Toronto is one of the most multicultural cities in the world.

Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?

place: Simple Kitchen Toronto

meal: ‘Warrior” breakfast bowl with chocolate chips!

What are you doing at:

6:00 AM – drinking a quality coffee, while writing at my living room window that overlooks downtown Toronto, with LED lights glowing up di place!

10:00 AM – finishing up a workout at either BeHot Yoga or the Adelaide Club.

12:00 PM – Favorite Lunch spot/meal?

Place: Impact Kitchen

meal: I also love their “warrior” bowl.

7:00 PM –  Making dinner and listening to a podcast.

11:00 PM – reading.

What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?

H20. I try to aim for 2 Litres a day so that I get somewhere around 1 in. I need to drink more haha!

Where do you enjoy getting lost?

In my creative process writing/ recording in the studio or performing/ speaking onstage.

How did you get into the industry?

I stepped onto my first stage at age 10 and have been performing for over 20 years. I also became a wellness coach over a decade ago. After about 12 years of juggling both careers at once, I decided to merge my careers to create a mindset program that helps leaders and artists manage their fears. I never imagined that I would own a business, but my wellness and performance backgrounds, as

well as the methods I acquired to get my anxiety under control serve as the perfect hybrid of experiences for the program provided within Fearce Academy.

Career advice to those in your industry?

No matter how much people hurt you, it shouldn’t ever stop you from choosing to love.

When you expose yourself to the spotlight, there’s going to be a lot of people that try to bring you down. There’s going to be a lot of failure.

But dance anyway, sing anyway, create anyway, share anyway, TRY anyway.

Any emerging industry trends?

Fearce Academy uses breath work as an integral part in managing fear and mindset. Wimhof’s techniques are the most fascinating body of work I’ve come across regarding breath and neural repatterning.

How do you motivate others?

I lead by example. I implement consistent, positive lifestyle habits that keep me resilient and allow me to focus on growth, and encourage others to do the same.
