What Else To Know

My Goal of the Day:

Balance creativity and productivity

My Thought of the Day:

How can I give a little more than I take?

My Action of the Day:

Don’t multi-task. Do one thing at a time and do it well.

My Deed of the Day:

Call someone on the phone, a parent, grandparent, close friend anyone who would love to hear from you! You will brighten up their day and probably yours too.

My Tip of the Day:

Even on a bad day, make time to be grateful.

My Pic of the Day:
Tell Us More:

I’ve lived in Los Angeles most of my life and I love that it still surprises me after all this time.

Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?

If I’m “going big” so to speak, then I love making crazy pancake experiments at home on the weekends, trying out combinations of different flours, bases and add-ins. The last batch I made was with a base using cottage cheese, whole wheat and AP flour, cinnamon and almond extract.

My favorite spot to go out to breakfast is a restaurant inside a Travelogue hotel called The Metro Café. They make the best latte in town I always order their petite Italian breakfast, which is a piece of grilled ciabatta bread topped with eggs scrambles with fresh parsley, dill and oregano and shaved parmesan over it.

What are you doing at:

6:00 AM – Enjoying the last few minutes of sleep before taking my first walk of the day with the dog.

10:00 AM – At the computer typing away.

12:00 PM – Favorite Lunch spot/meal?

There’s a 90% chance my lunch with be one of these three: leftovers, a poke bowl or tacos.

7:00 PM – Depending on the day, I either just started class or am on my way home from one. On days when I don’t have classes, dinner is either in the works or in my belly.

11:00 PM – Reading in bed curled up next to my fella with our pup vying for space between us.

What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?

I wake up looking forward to the ritual of brewing coffee and sitting in the kitchen drinking one big mug before I get tackling my to-do list. Throughout the day, I switch back and forth between with still and fizzy water. I don’t drink during the week anymore because of my class schedule, but on weekends I love to wind down the day with a beer or a cocktail, preferably a good Manhattan served up. I’m a petite person so one is usually plenty for me!

Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?

I love the Be My Eyes app. It’s a volunteer network that connects sighted members with visually impaired members to assist with tasks using a camera phone. It’s really great to be able to help a total stranger somewhere in the world, whether it’s helping them cross the street safely or find someone in a store.

What should everyone try at least once?

Give up or move seats on a plane for someone who needs it. The gesture might be small, but small things matter a lot sometimes.

Where do you enjoy getting lost?

Any foreign city where every new corner holds potential. I was in Montreal for the first time this year and it was a wonderful place to explore. One day I just walked up and down random streets for an hour taking photos of beautiful staircases.
