Celebrity Chef & Nutritionist
Celebrity Chef and Nutritionist, Serena Poon has made it her mission to promote further education around the mindful combination of food, nutrition and healing intuition in what she has coined, “Culinary Alchemy™.” A leading Chef to the Hollywood elite, Serena sets herself apart in a saturated industry with her genuine passion for curating intentional healing and wellness programs designed for optimal, sustainable health. Integrating energetic techniques with guidance and education on food nutrition, how food affects our bodies on a physiological level, as well as how it affects the emotional body, her goal is to support the nutritional, emotional and spiritual well-being of her clients. Her motivation for concentrating on intuitive and functional food healing began long before she started creating contemporary meals, menus and nutritional plans for the likes of Jerry Bruckheimer and Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, amongst others.
As a Chef for Hugh Hefner at the Playboy Mansion, Serena built a list of private clients and started introducing dietary, health and wellness planning into her classic fine dining services. Focusing now on her Culinary Alchemy™, her designs balance integrative health and holistic nutrition, customized to fit individual lifestyles and demanding schedules. She approaches every client with grace and gratitude along with a commitment to investing her best-self and endless knowledge to their overall well-being.

I live in Santa Monica and I absolutely love the beauty of the city, with its proximity to the ocean, the vibrancy of conscious, healthy lifestyle and all the options we have for health and wellness, from food to meditation and fitness classes.
Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?
Avocado toast is pretty much a standard breakfast favorite for me. You’ll find me making it at home, ordering it out during breakfast meetings and making it in the hotel room during my travels all over the globe.
My favorite restaurant in the city is still Cassia, because they have a creative, cross-cultural menu with multi-layered flavors that appeases all kinds of palates and diets, while still offering some delicious gluten-free and vegan dishes that I love.
What are you doing at:
6:00AM: I’m awake but still in bed, going over my gratitude list, my affirmations and doing a little bit of reiki to start my day. Then I meditate for about 10minutes. Most days I will also journal for a few minutes with my days’ intentions.
10:00 AM: I am either in a meeting or with a client going over their menu and nutrition or wellness plan. One day a week, I prep and film for my show Serena Loves TV.
12:00PM – Favorite Lunch spot/meal?
I love meeting in the Garden at Soho House because the views of the city are always beautiful, especially on a clear day, and they now have a very plant-based lunch buffet, which gives me a lot of fresh options outside of their daily menu.
7:00PM: By 7pm, I’m either having a dinner meeting or with friends at one of my favorite restaurants, or I’m at home with our fur babies, making dinner and playing with recipes in my own kitchen.
11:00PM: You likely find me on my BEMER getting my second 8-minute dose of PEMF or on my crystal-lined infrared heat mat, soothing out the day and listening to a guided meditation. A few times a week, I’ll have the Celluma on my face while lying on the mats.
What drinks do you need to get through the day and at the end of the day (and how many)?
I start every day with a cup of warm lemon water, followed by a fresh pressed celery juice and my immunity elixirs. After that, I will always have a Just Add Water™, my organic ceremonial matcha latte with cashew milk, a green juice (my Luminous Elixir), a kombucha and water throughout the rest of the day. For Just Add Water, I will sometimes have it twice a day, as well as a matcha latte, depending on how long my day goes or if I’m traveling. But Just Add Water is an absolute must-have for me before an important meeting or a big event.
Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?
I use my Notepad App on the Iphone and Instagram more than any other app. Currently, my favorite Instagram account is pretty much anything with a cute little puppy on it. It’s like an instant dopamine boost.
What should everyone try at least once?
I think everyone needs to take a trip by themselves in a city or country they’ve never been to before. Even if you meet up with friends or family at some point of the trip, I think it’s important to spend at least a few days alone, exploring, wandering and meeting new faces. The experiences you’ll have and the connections you’ll make are invaluable.
Where do you enjoy getting lost?
I’ve gotten lost in Paris, in Rome and in Barcelona and loved wandering in every one of those cities, because each offers so much in history, art, culture and amazing food that you won’t even realize the entire day has passed while getting lost in its streets.
